Presentation of Shoudo-shima |
とはいえ、それは日本語での話。英語で語るには準備が必要。(単語がわからん) ということで、せっかく練習用原稿を作ったので、アップしてみる。 非常にショボい英語なんやけど、これでも昨夜遅くまでかかって作ったのだ。^^;
お暇な方は読んでみてください。 変な表現があっても優しい心と生温かい目で見守ってね。。。

I will present Shoudo-shima Island, my home town. Shoudo-shima is located in Setouchi-Sea, west Japan, and belongs to Kagawa pref.
Its climate is warm and less rain like Mediterranean, so an olive tree had taken root there more than 100years ago. It’s the first case in Japan. So, both of the tree and the flower of Kagawa pref. are olive.
Shoudo-shima has some cultural differences from another part of Kagawa pref. For example, Kagawa pref. is famous for Udon, one kind of Japanese noodles, but Shoudo-shima for Somen, another kind. And its dialect is little different ,too.
Major religion is “the Shingon-shu”, one sect of Buddhism, because a famous monk "Kukai" who had established the sect was training around there. So there are many small temples.
The special products are olive, somen, soy source, fresh fish, and so on. But because of less rain, we can’t grow rice so much, and sometimes, there is lack of water and we are limited to using tap water at some hours a day.
Shoudo-shima is famous for beautiful view, especially “Kankakei” is one of the three most beautiful valleys in Japan. In autumn, it is covered by red, yellow and orange leaves. It’s very beautiful!
Shoudo-shima is famous as “Kabuki Island”, too. Kabuki is one of Japanese traditional musicals played by special actors. But Shoudo-shima’s Kabuki is played by farmers, very rare case around Japan. It’s played May and October. People gather with lunchbox and enjoy Kabuki. It’s interesting!
And in October, “the Drum Festivals” are held. Everyone, from babies to old people around the Island, likes the festivals. People mount a big drum on the woody chariots, four each children ride on and beat the drum, near 100men carry it on their shoulders and offer it up to the god. It’s very very exciting!!!
I was born there and lived since 19 years old. But when I lived, I didn’t like there because there was country, useless and nothing fun for youth. But gradually, I became to like there after my moving to Osaka. We Japanese say “The home town is the place to miss from a long way”. I have realized it.
Shoudo-shima is really beautiful island. Please come there and enjoy view , foods and events. Especially, I recommend the end of April to head of May, season of young bright leaves. And October and November, season of the festivals and red burning leaves. Then I will guide you.
Thank you so much.

で、今朝も早くから起きてがんばってこれ覚えてったら、 「君たちの人数を間違ってたよ。8〜10分だと時間が足りないから一人6分にショートカットしてね」とかさらっと言われて、 若干切れかけました。^^;
ざけんなインド人! 最初に作った5〜6分ぶんの原稿を8〜10分ぶんに延ばすのに何時間かけたと思ってんねん!! おれの睡眠時間かえせ!!!
とか内心思いつつ、まあ普段の仕事でもままあることなので対応しましたけどね。。 昼休み、昼食後の昼寝時間を削ってね。 そしたら勢いつきすぎて、5分切るくらいまでに削ってしまったという。。。^^;
なかなかうまいこと行かんなぁ。 とりあえず眠い。(−_−)
