昨日の４人クラスで、宿題のレポートを提出した。これをもとに、今日、一人ずつ前に立って、プレゼンテーションをしなければならない。話をする時には手元にレポートはない。メモもいけないといわれている。これはなかなか大変だ。少し緊張している。
プレゼンターションのテーマとして、私は「The Spring Festival in My Town」を選んだ。これは４月に書いた私の日記の題で、内容もほとんどかわらない。日記をつけていたおかげで、レポートを簡単にすませることができた。ともあれ、その内容を紹介しよう。
The Spring Festival in My Town
I have a spring festival in my town. During the festival, some grown-ups and children dress a light blue uniform called “Happi” on their everyday clothes. And they wear a white headband made of cotton cloth called “Hachimaki”. Shortly afterward, I’ll show you a picture of then.
Seeing the children in Happi and Hachimakii makes us feel very happy and think today is the special day for our town. Therefore they are indispensable in our festival.
When our two daughters were a child, they also wore a Happi and a Hachimakii. My wife and I used to take pictures of them. Children in a Happi and a Hachimakii remember me of my daughters. Shortly afterward, I’ll show you a picture of my daughters.
By the way, there is one more important thing indispensable for Japanese style festival. What do you think it is? It is a portable shrine called “Omikoshi”. It is carried around my town on our children’s shoulders with their cheerful voices of “Washoi Wasoi”. I don’t know the meaning of “Washoi Wasoi” A scholar says that it came from old cornea. Anyway, it makes our spirit very uplifted. Shortly afterward, I’ll show you a picture of my daughter shouldering the Omikoshi.
There are also many booths and stands where we can drink, eat and play games. I enjoy then with my wife. We ate “takoyaki” and “yakisoba” as a lunch. Do you know what “takoyaki” and “yakisoba”are like? They were very delicious.
We also enjoy interesting performances. One of then is a Japanese drums show. About twenty of children play drums with cheerful performances. The powerful rhythm of the drums is so impressive. I feel extremely happy for a while.
This is the spring festival in my town. Some towns have a festival in Summer or autumn and sometimes they have another performances. Thank you for listening to me so earnestly.
今日は学校にノートパソコンを持参して、私の町の春祭りの様子を紹介したいと思っている。はっぴを着て鉢巻をした私の幼い二人の娘や、お神輿を担いだ次女のりりしい写真を見てもらおうと思う。百聞は一見にしかずという。私の舌足らずの英語を、二人の娘達の写真が補ってくれるだろう。
