* HOMEWORK DIARY *

2004年01月10日(土) Lucky or Unlucky?

I went to an optician to get my eyeglasses that had been ordered. I ordered a couple of glasses and a couple of sunglasses with lenses at the last day of last year.
The glasses were really fine. I was excited that I got clear sight through the new glasses. But the frame of the sunglasses didn't fit on my face. A store manager got mad at a middle-aged man who had examined my eyes and gotten the order. So the manager showed me one another type of frames. As it could fit, he offered me to make over the lenses into new sunglasses with the other frame at once. It sounded nice though, the frame was over fifteen thousand yen more expensive than the other one I'd ordered. I complained him about the overplus, then he said, "You don't have to pay for a surfeit of the frame."
A misfortune turned into a blessing. Finally, I could get the sunglasses with lenses and Calvin Klein's frame at only fourteen thousand yen all in all.

2004年01月09日(金) My Son Didn't Come Back!

I was worried about my son's way home from school because he had never walked any streets without adults. Moreover, although my daughter had told me he would get off school earlier than her today, in reality she got home first. She didn't see him after class. I was frightened and ran to school, then I found him at the inside of entrance. He was talking with his friend. I scolded him for making me frighten and warned him that I would call police if he hadn't gotten home on time. He tried to explain me something, but apologized me for his fault finally. At home, my daughter was waiting for us with fear.

2004年01月08日(木) The First Day of Kids' New School

My kids' new school started. Luckily, I also could join the meeting of semester starting. My kids introduced themselves in front of all students and teachers with the other transfered students. Actually, they would speak in English and Japanese, but they just did it simply in Japanese. They must have gotten nervous. In such a situation, I always get nervous more than my kids do.
After the meeting, I went home at once, then I went and picked them up from their school.
At night, I've gotten email by my cell from Mi, and we talked on the phone. It was been a long time.

2004年01月07日(水) The 3rd Moving

Even though in the original plan, I had intended my kids to transfer to an elementary school in a school district of my mom's domicile, I've decided to move in a housing development that we used to live. It was a result from considering my daughter's feelings and convenience of living.
So today was the moving day. Moving boxes from the U.S. by air were supposed to come until evening, we would leave my mom's house after getting them. Yet, my mom had gone for pachinko and didn't get home until 6 p.m.! Because we couldn't leave without her car, we moved in the night. So I carried all of the boxes to the 2nd floor by myself. I'm anxious about tomorrow's my backache.

2004年01月06日(火) Called Tommie

I called up Tommie as I thought it was almost a day she had come back from California. She arrived in California just as I left. Because we weren't able to meet there, we promised to meet in Japan without fail. She told me that she had visited Janet who is our ex-teacher and her family. Tommie was showed my final essay which I had written for my writing class and given to Janet. Janet must have been proud of it. She boasted and told Tommie, "This is Yun's English level now. This is written about me!" In fact, it is draft 3 that corrected mistakes and awkward sentences by my professor. In any case, making a benefactor happy is great pleasure to me.
During midnight, I chatted with Ma on the web until dawn.

2004年01月05日(月) Registration

I went to the public office of my Ward to register citizenship. It was easier than I expected though, it took me for many hours because there was terribly crowded.
After registration, I tried to call kids' school up, and a vice-principal answered the phone. She is a really nice person and remembered my daughter. And she offered me coming to school immediately. Properly, I went there with my kids, and was able to meet her and a principal. I was so glad since they both have kept us in their mind and welcomed. I bought school goods for kids and went home.
I felt relief at completing the second important engagement.

2004年01月04日(日) New Diary Book

While my mom was taking my kids to a park, I went to a book store alone. So I bought this diary book.
Indeed, I've already had another one. Even though it had been bought for writing journal in English, I gave it up long time ago. In spite of extravagance, the reason why I bought new one was a kind of refreshing myself because of various grounds. Rightly, the first of the grounds is improving thinking by English, but I don't know whether I'll be able to keep going to write this or not.

2004年01月03日(土) Separation

Because husband had been supposed to move to a dormitory of his company, we all went to Isehara by my mom's car. Isehara area is a place that my family had been for 8 years. Its scenery made me feel good old though, I don't want to live there any more. His new room looked comfortable. Almost the things he needs to live have already been placed in the room.

In fact, Hal had a gig in Atsugi where is located next to Isehara. I had desired to listen to his playing actually, but I abandoned it, since I was worried about my mom's driving on her way home. Thus I drove through traffic jam to Tokyo in the night.

2004年01月02日(金) McDonald's

My husband had to go to his new room which is his company's dormitory to find out what he needs. Because my kids were bored, he said them that they could get on trains, and took them.
While my kids weren't home, I studied English. However I couldn't concentrate on it.
After they got home, my kids said McDonald's in Japan was very yummy. Probably their lunch must have been hamburgers.

2004年01月01日(木) DIARY

I have been in Japan brifly because of visa; therefore, I can't go to college. So I've decided to write diary as an exercise during a school break.

----

My nephew and niece who had stayed grandma's house went their home since it was New Year's Day. So I took bored my daughter to a book store. She'd wanted new books for these months. Of course it was closed. I just had to go to a supermarket to find books, but it didn't have any books. I bought some new stationery for my kids instead of books.
