trudge off though the snow :　雪の中をとぼとぼ歩いて出かけていく

　trudge というのは、ゆっくりと疲れた調子で歩く（「英和活用」より）意味で、そこに副詞のoff（出発して、立ち去って）と前置詞のthough(〜を通って)が付いたもの。

trim 木や髪などを「整える」という意味で使います。

　　timberは木材という意味でしか知らなかったのですが、「木が倒れるぞ〜！」という伐採時の警告のかけ声としても使われます。

　　timberには、主に米語で、資質的、性格的に地位などにふさわしい人材という意味でも使われます。
